TRAINING COURSE THAILAND

Hi. My name is Aom, I am one of the participants from Thailand.
If you see the topic of this article, this training course is mainly focused on the activities of saving the ocean and marine resources that I participated in Phuket, the province in the southern part of Thailand that has so many beautiful beaches and rich in marine resources. But one thing that I would let you know is, I'm from a place that is not even close to the sea. Then, I was so excited to write this article. So, if you are ready, let’s grab some snacks and travel with me!

On the first day, I helped the organization prepare a place for the meeting that was set in the hotel along the Karon beach. Then, I met the participants who came from four different countries such as Lithuania, Italy, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Thailand, the hosted by VSA organization. In fact, after the Covid-19 happened this is the first opportunity for me to have a conversation in English with a foreigner.

We did so many activities during the training course for example watching the sunset at the beach every evening, cleaning up the beach, discovering the place, doing some workshops on the topic of the coastal situation in each country, the cultural night, and visiting the aquarium. The next part is an example of some activities that I wanted to mention.

Firstly, the workshop on the topic of coastal situation. This activity was very helpful and more advantageous because we can receive the information from the people who live in that place and face the real problems like the Lithuanian mention about the Baltic sea that has so many arms trashes from the war. Additionally, St. Vincent and the Grenadines have problems from the volcanic eruption, which has so many ashes that affected the land and sea resources.

Secondly, the intercultural night was so amazing because every country brings their food and beverages to share with the others. As well as, fun facts about each country, and things that you can do and don’t. At this point, we can learn deeply about each culture.

Furthermore, the highlight of this project was the last day of the farewell party that we went to the island by the Catamaran, the big boat. It was the first time in my life having an experience on a boat like this, it has second floors with a slider and self-pool! I’m amazed. We can snorkel around the island and I found that the world under the water is still beautiful as it was.

To sum up, this project is the place where we can think and realize the problems that we face at the present then we share the idea or the solutions to solve the problems and take action instead of being ignored and make our world better. Finally, I was so impressed with this training course and this going to be one of the best experiences in my life that I would never forget.
